Prof. Dr. Adnan Kabaalioğlu, a 1984 graduate of Çapa Medical School, has 40 years of experience in medicine and 35 years of experience in ultrasound. After spending 27 years at Akdeniz University pursuing an academic career, he worked for 4 years as the Head of the Department of Radiology at Istanbul Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital, and for the subsequent 4 years as the Head of the Ultrasound Department at Koç University Hospital.

At the beginning of his academic career, he completed a Research Fellowship in Abdominal Interventional Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with Harvard University, and subsequently received training in the Interventional Radiology Department at Guy’s Hospital, University of London.

In 1997, he was appointed Associate Professor and has presented as an invited speaker on ultrasound and especially liver, kidney, spleen, breast, pregnancy ultrasound, testis and thyroid ultrasound, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of hydatid cysts and fascioliasis at various scientific meetings and conferences both nationally and internationally. For 10 years, he served as a faculty member at the “Abdominal US” course at the University of Pavia in Italy, and for the past 11 years, he has been involved as a faculty member in the “US Summer School” in Constanța.

Throughout his 35-year academic career, Prof. Dr. Adnan Kabaalioğlu has contributed to the medical and radiology education of hundreds of Turkish and international students and assistants, prepared over a hundred international and national publications, and received awards for his work, particularly for his contributions to the ultrasound findings of “Fascioliasis.” He has been honored with the Philips Radiology Award by the Turkish Radiology Society and received Honorary Membership and the “Gheorghe Jovin” Award from the Romanian Ultrasound Society.

He has extensive experience in thyroid, testis, liver, biliary tract, kidney, and breast ultrasound, as well as in ultrasound screening in pregnancy and interventional procedures related to these organs.
